The best home brewer in the world
Many renowned coffee experts consider the Technivorm Moccamaster line of coffee brewers to simply be the best available. Here's why:
Heats water to the proper temperature of 92 – 94 degrees Celsius (198 - 204 ˚F) and keeps it consistent through the whole brew cycle, ensuring proper flavour extraction from your coffee grounds.
The Technivorm's brew cycle finishes in about six minutes. That's much shorter than other brewers, and better for your coffee.
Not Made in China
Quality of build is extremely important when it comes to your coffee brewer. Each unit is hand-built and tested by ethically treated, well paid and knowledgeable people in The Netherlands (not China), meeting the very highest quality standards. They are imported directly by Transcend Coffee, as we are the Canadian distributor for Technivorm. These machines are incredibly solid, well put-together, and and easy to use. They come with a standard 5-year warranty and will brew your coffee consistently for years and years to come. In fact, some European customers are still using the Technivorm brewer they purchased over 20 years ago!
This item qualifies for free shipping anywhere in Canada.
The Technivorm Moccamaster CD Thermal meets the very strict requirements of both the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) and the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE) for coffee brewing quality. This is†something very few coffee makers can claim.
“After brewing gallons of coffee, we had a winner (The Technivorm Moccamaster). It’s utterly consistent: During every cycle, it hit the ideal temperature zone for the optimal length of time, which explains why its coffee was always smooth and full-flavored."
-Cook’s Illustrated - Read the article or watch the video review.
“The Technivorm KB741 coffee maker has a cult following, not least because water is brought to a boil so that grounds steep at an ideal 200 degrees.”
-New York Times
“The (Technivorm) KB 741 was the most powerful of the seven coffeemakers I tried, at 1475 watts. It produced a delicious, superbly balanced cup—the kind I’d want to start my day with. It was also the fastest, producing eight cups in about five minutes."
-Sam Gugino, Wine Spectator
“Handmade in Holland, the Moccamaster coffee machine is beautifully engineered. It maintains optimal temperature (precisely 200 ˚F) throughout its brewing cycle for a difference you’ll taste in your morning cup.”
"How did the coffee (from the Technivorm KBT741) taste? It was hot, sparkling and perfectly extracted."

Great mocca for 5 years !
Posted by R B Chambers on 7th Jul 2018
I purchased the Moccomaster KBT741 Sept. 2013 . I don't like to write hasty reviews but 5 years could be considered negligent or is great trouble-free coffee , grounds for complacency . Pardon the pun...This coffee maker does everything the ads promised . Just a vinegar flush occasionally and remember to set the filter flow valve and enjoy ! One great advancement might be a glass lined carafe ( if feasible ) to ease cleaning . Thanks Transcend for fast, great service .
f#####n good coffee

LIFE CHANGING COFFEE!

Like others this took me a moment to get over the price. Given the reviews all over the web we decided to take the plunge into the Techonivorm world. We have always had fresh amazing beans as we have a roaster in the family. Thinking our Krupp’s machine was doing an adaquate job of brewing I was sceptical about how much better could it really get. At the time of purchase we also invested in a Baratza burr grinder so we were all set for coffee glory. All I can say we were both blown away with how much more flavour we could taste in the cofeee, so much more depth. Bottom line if you have the funds and looking for a machine without the bells and whistles that just brews an amazing cup of coffee then don’t wait another minute, just add this to your cart. My only gripe about the machine is the lid for the pot.this could use a redesign so that you don’t have different lids to deal with. Transcend is a pleasure to deal with and shipping was fast.
Always a Good Brew

My husband and I purchased this coffee maker as a Christmas gift to each other and the coffee so far is consistently excellent. Very happy with it.
Reliable, good quality brew

Fast, reliable brewer. brews consistent quality coffee.
1- the thermal carafe comes with 2 screw-in caps; one brew/pour through, one fully sealed. Carafe does not fit under the coffee machine with the sealed cap, it is a few millimeters too tall. (removing the base fixes this, but then you've got an extra piece to keep track of)
2- the thermal carafe arrived with a pinched washer. (haven't tried to return or fix)
3- the thermal carafe (again) pours a very wide stream, easy to make a mess.
4- it is easy to leave the slide switch on the brew cylinder in the closed position, which results in coffee grounds overflowing into the carafe. (a drop of white paint would help)
Excellent product from the Netherlands

We are satisfied with the speed and the heat of the brewing. We also had good service with Transcend and really quick delivery as we are located in Quebec.
The only issue we were working on was to figure out a way keep coffee warmer for longer as we were used to having a standard coffee maker with a heating plate that basically boiled and burned the coffee. We just found out that the trick is to preheat the carafe...! (really important)
We use the KBT 741 for partial brews (4 cups) and the coffee that comes out seems just perfect at the right temperature and the right taste ! (not boiled)
Simply put, a Technivorm's coffee machine is a must and worth the price if you drink coffee every day !
Form & Function - nailed!

We are very happy with this coffee maker. No, it isn't cheap, but it delivers. No bells nor whistles, but great design and functions well. The design makes it very easy to use and, importantly, to clean (as you have to do this every day, we appreciate that). And it brews great coffee.
A lovely machine - excellent for coffee lovers; challenging for some

We are a office environment, and the coffee and device lovers adore it. The machine is great, and makes great coffee. For connoisseurs, this is a great product.
It is, however, challenging for people who want to just press a button - the small parts and covers make it tricky for the mechanically disinclined to take it on. The bottom plastic plate for the carafe mystifies everyone and traveled across the counter and ended up set aside.
One major issue - the filter top easily slides to 'closed" and fills the filter with grounds and coffee, ruining a brew. This has happened enough that i'm considering putting tape on it - less than ideal.

There is one significant problem with this coffee pot: the shower head does not evenly distribute the water on the coffee grounds. In fact, a large portion of the coffee grounds will be dry after the coffee is brewed. This means that a person must close the value on the filter cone and stir the grounds at least once during a brew. The coffee will be great if you can tolerate this process every time you make coffee. It leaves me wondering if this was by design or if this is a serious design flaw?

We are so happy we splurged on this pretty pricey coffeemaker, as the coffee now tastes so much better, it's unbelievable! We could not believe the difference a coffeemaker can make to the taste of the coffee, but it did. The only thing I wish, is that it came with a coffee grinder; we now have to grind the coffee first, but it's worth it! BEST COFFEEMAKER for home use.
