Mario Salazar's Farm is located in the Naranjo region of Costa Rica on the same mountain as another relationship coffee, Santa Lucia. Mario processes his cherries at his neighbouring Helsar Mill, owned by producer Ricardo Barrantes of Santa Lucia. The Salazar family has been producing since 1940. Their current Caturra and Catuai plants are 15 years old and growing on five hectares of volcanic soil partially shaded by Poro and Banana trees. Their total production is 200 bags of green coffee annually.
