We discovered this small, family operation high in the mountains of the Tarrazu region when Poul Mark, Transcend’s Founder, visited the area in November of 2010. Edwin Alvarado and his family live in the small town of Leon Cortes where they cultivate coffee and operate a family owned mill named La Joya which translates into English as "the jewel." As their mill is located in the town, the Alvarado family has become an integral partner for other producers in the area looking to have their cherries locally processed.
The Alvarado family has been working with coffee for decades. Edwin has nearly 40 years of experience and their skill can be seen how their farm and equipment are meticulously maintained. Harvesting is also a family affair, Edwin, his two sons and their family work together to pick cherries at optimal ripeness. Cherries are carefully sorted prior to washed processing and are then dried in the sun.

We had a cup and we were amazed ...got to order more of this stuff ...I mean Wow ,this is great coffee.!!

Ce café porte si bien son nom...
C'est définitivement mon préféré de la selection pour les méthodes d'extration douces.
Très bel équilibre, ni trop acide, ni trop amer; un vrai régal!
